12. SERVICING AND MAINTENANCE WORKS
12.1. Monthly / periodically
The purchaser / operator can perform the following tasks themselves:
- Turn on the system for five minutes at least once a month (see Chapter “10. Commissioning, handling
and operation” ) - be sure to take operating hour meter readings.
- Once a month, check the pit walls, pump, and water level regulator for contamination. If significant deposits
are found, the these parts of the system must be cleaned (hose down with water).
ATTENTION
Be sure to turn off the system beforehand.
- Periodically check for proper operation the switch-on and off levels and all acoustic and optical warn sys -
tems.
12.2. Annually
The floating ring seals and the cutting unit (if there is one) must be checked for wear and tear at least once
a year. As part of the floating ring seal inspection, it must at the same time be ensured that there is sufficient
oil (oil level). Finally, the system must be checked for contamination and water ingression.
The ball bearings too must be checked for damage caused by wear. For this purpose, the entire rotor must
be turned several times.
Since the system makes use of high-quality precision parts, inspections and, where required, replacement of
these parts must be carried out only by suitably qualified and authorised specialists.
12.3. Dismantling
Procedure
- Disconnect the power supply.
- Dismantle and clean pump.
- The pump can now be transported in accordance with the specifications made in Chapter “3. Delivery and
transport” and, where required, temporarily stored.
ATTENTION
If the pump no longer works and therefore needs to be disposed of, this must be done pro-
fessionally and in compliance with the applicable local regulations, notably environmental
and health regulations.
