10. COMMISSIONING, HANDLING AND OPERATION
ATTENTION
The system must only be commissioned by a Häny service technician or specialists autho-
rised for that purpose.
ATTENTION
Sand and stones destroy the cutting unit.
10.1. Checks prior to commissioning
Prior to installing the electric pump, the following controls must be carried out:

1) The electric pump is ready for operation when delivered, and the oil sep-
arating chamber is already filled to the correct level.
2) Through the suction nozzle, check whether the rotor disc can be spun
freely.
3) Connect the supply cable to the switch box.
The ends of the supply cable are marked in accordance with the diagram
given in Chapter “9.5. Electrical connection” . The correct connection of
the line is essential for the correct direction of rotation of the electric pump.
If the installed group is visible during start-up, it will suffer an anticlockwise
backstroke (cf. Figure 1).
10.2. Automatic operation
Following start-up by a service technician, the system is set to automatic
operation; the operating switch is in “auto” position. In this mode, the system
operation is completely automated. Start / stop of the system and alarm dis-
play are level-dependent, e.g. activated through the water level regulator. In
automatic mode, the system is protected against dry operation (water level
regulator).
10.3. Manual operation
If required (see Chapter “2.3. Servicing and operation” ), the system can
be switched to manual operation. In this mode, the mode selector switch will point to “Hand” ( ATTENTION:
the switch must not lock into place!).
ATTENTION
In this operating mode, the pump is not protected against dry operation. For this reason, it
is imperative to ensure that both the pit and the pump are filled with transport fluid before
the system is switched on.
ATTENTION
It must be ensured that the pit is not emptied below the switch-off level as a result of manual
control.
ATTENTION
The pump must never operate in dry condition. Ensure correct rotation direction. Otherwise,
the stator of the pump will be destroyed.
11. DECOMMISSIONING
By turning the main switch to “0” the system can be turned off.
In case of a risk of frost and / or prolonged interruption of operations, the pump must be dismantled, cleaned
and, where required, preserved, by a service technician or authorised specialist.
In case of longer interruption of operations (for example in holiday homes), the waste water must be pumped
out of the pump pit. The shaft must then be filled with fresh water. Finally, the pit must be pumped empty in
automatic mode.
