Troubleshooting
WARNING!
Improper use, faulty electrical installation or excessive mains voltage may result in
an electric shock or short-circuiting.
■
Never try to repair a defective or suspected defective appliance yourself. You can
put your own and future users’ lives in danger. Only authorised specialists are al-
lowed to carry out this repair work.
■
Do not continue to cook if you fi nd cracks in the glass ceramic. Water that runs
through cracks into the hob may be live and can cause electric shock! Immediately
disconnect the hob from the mains (switch off and/or unscrew fuses) and contact
our Service Centre (see “Service“ on page EN-26).

Possible solutions/tips
The hob can not be
switched on, the sensor
field remains dark.
The power supply has been interrupted. Check the fuse(s) for the hob
in the fuse box. In case of doubt, connect our Service Centre (see
“Service“ on page EN-26).
The sensors do not re-
act.
The safety lock is now enabled. Deactivate the safety locking mech-
anism by touching the sensor (12) for approx. 3 seconds.
The sensors respond
poorly.
There is a film of water over the sensors. Clean and dry the sensor
field.
You are not pressing the sensors sufficiently. Always touch the sen-
sors with your entire fingertip, not just the very end of the finger.
The cookware makes
a crackling or whirring
noise.
These noises arise due to the design of the induction cookware and
do not indicate a defect.
The cookware emits a
whistling sound when on
a high heat setting.
These noises arise due to the design of the induction cookware and
do not indicate a defect. If you reduce the heat setting, these noises
should stop.
Fan noise.
The hob is equipped with a fan, which switches on automatically when
one of the cooking zones/mixed zones is activated and continues to
run for some time after the hob has been switched off. Do not shut off
power to the hob while the fan is running.
