Additional precautionary measures apply
to children of all ages.
■
Do not allow children to play with the
packaging fi lm. They may get caught up
in this or suffocate.
■
Stop children from pulling small parts
from the appliance or taking them out
of the accessory bag and putting them
in their mouths. Children can choke on
small parts.
■
Keep descalers and cleaning agents out
of the reach of children.
Risk of burns!
The portafi lter and steam lance become
hot during use.
■
Do not touch the metal parts of the por-
tafi lter and the steam lance during use.
Hold the portafi lter only by the handle
and the steam lance by the plastic cover.
■
Avoid coming into direct contact with
hot steam or water.
■
Remove the portafi lter only when the
appliance is in standby mode again (all
LED rings steadily light up white).
■
Never try to remove the portafi lter dur-
ing brewing.
■
Do not remove the water tank during
brewing or while frothing milk.
■
Switch off the appliance before fi lling
the water tank (all LED rings are then
off).
■
Do not heat fl ammable liquids with
steam.
■
Clean the appliance only after it has
cooled down completely.
Health hazard!
Dried milk and coffee residues as well as
stale water can cause harmful germs and
the formation of mould.
■
Use a damp kitchen towel to wipe down
the steam lance immediately after each
use. Release some steam from the steam
lance to clean it on the inside.
■
Fill the water tank with fresh, cold water
only; never use hot water or other liquids
such as carbonated mineral water, milk,
etc.
■
Change the water in the water tank dai-
ly.
■
Only use fresh milk.
■
Always keep the appliance and the indi-
vidual parts (fi lter inserts and portafi lter,
portafi lter holder, grinder, water tank,
steam lance) clean.
■
Avoid contact with the descaler.
■
Do not ingest descalers and cleaning
agents.
■
Do not mix the descaler with other clean-
ing agents and descalers or other chem-
icals.
■
Wash your hands after using the descal-
er and cleaning agent.
■
Observe the manufacturer's instructions.
