2 INSTALLATION, SETTING AND OPERATION INSTRUCTIONS
2.1 Safety rules
This Operation Manual shall be available at any moment in the accessible place close to the electric
motor.
The user shall be responsible for training and safety of the operating personnel at the company.
Persons involved into transportation, installation, electric wiring, commissioning, operation or
maintenance of the equipment, shall have this Operation Manual at their disposal.
Attention!
It is prohibited to use and operate the electric motor near water or in damp places.
The electric motor was designed, tested and acknowledged complying with stringent
international standards with the use of particular components produced by the given
manufacturer. Design features of some parts intended to ensure safety are not always
obvious. The manufacturer shall not be responsible for the consequences in applying
other spare parts.
Do not tamper the electric motor.
If any unusual signs are observed during storage or operation (smell, heating, change of
colour or shape), stop operation immediately.
2.2 Operating conditions
To avoid damage to the motor when switching on, after storage and transportation of the product
under negative temperature, before starting the motor, it shall be kept under the room conditions
(+20±5 ºC and relative humidity of less than 60 %) within at least 2 hours.
For the purpose of installation, commissioning, testing and adjustment, only specially trained and
properly qualifi ed personnel shall be involved.
The motor shall be installed according to the installation instructions.
Corrosion hazard:
Avoid corrosion formation due to the eff ect of aggressive substances (e.g. some cooling, lubrication
materials, cutting fl uid or salt mist) on the motor housing.
Emergency cutoff :
The energy accumulated in the drive shall be removed or isolated as soon as possible upon actuation
of the emergency cutoff device in order to reduce the risk of eff ect in the hazardous area. (ATEX
Directive 94/9/EG, Annex II, Chapter 1.6.2).
To ensure that, the user has the following possibilities:
– Energy isolation from the drive output in case of emergency cutoff is ensured if the driver regulator
is disabled by electronics together with the power disconnection. This happens with the mains
protection tripping with the subsequent drive reaction to the fault resulting from the mains supply
failure. The required drive reaction to fault shall be set by the user in the drive using the drive
parameters according to the functional description.
– To deenergize the sensor wiring, the drive actuating voltage shall also be disconnected. If the
drive actuating voltage and power are disconnected, the motor output is independently locked by
electronics via the fi nal stage, which means isolation of any possible accumulated energy at the
output and in the electric motor (in the intermediate circuit).
– If possible, short circuit of the intermediate circuit shall be used to quickly deenergize the drive
intermediate circuit after disconnection from the mains. Irrespective of these possibilities, before
commencing works with the unit (according to the safety rules) the user shall check whether the
residual voltage is present on the unit parts using the appropriate measuring instrument (e.g. due
to the residual energy of condensers in fi lters and drives). Wait until they discharge.
Other environmental impacts:
The following should be remembered regarding environmental hazards:
– Operation is allowed only within the specifi ed environmental conditions;
– Do not exceed the maximum vibration and impact loads.
– Possibility of corrosion due to humidity, avoid the eff ect of aggressive substances and contamination
of the protective conductor terminals.
