8. Startup

Make sure that the pipe connections are carried out
according to the pipe manufacturer's instructions be-
fore startup.

Make sure that the drain taps face away from the door
you come in at when installing the base frame to avoid
exposure to steam.
8.1 Pump startup
The iGRID Pressure and Temperature Zone solutions are delivered
with the pump or pumps installed. See the installation and operating
instructions of the pump for pump startup.
8.2 Filling with district heating water
Make sure that the system is filled with water and vented
before startup.

Use personal protective equipment when working at
the solution.
Before starting up the system, make sure of the following:
•
All valves in the main lines are open.
• All drain valves are closed.
• The pump or pumps and the pipe system are filled with water
and vented.
• The valves before pressure sensors are open, and all closed
valves without connection to units are closed with a plug.
• All sensors are checked for correct measuring range.
• All wiring and cable connections are checked for correct
installation with reliefs and seals according to local electrical
codes.
• The direction of rotation of the pump or pumps is checked.
Check the following for tightness after startup:
•
Pipe connections, flanges and gaskets.
In case of a leakage, flanges must be retightened and thread
assemblies must be repacked.
8.3 Starting up the Pressure Zone
The pumps start automatically 5 seconds after the supply
voltage is connected.
If the solution is delivered with iGRID Cloud, the setpoint
must be set in the iGRID Portal before starting any pump.
1. Make sure that the main valves are open.
2. Connect the mains supply voltage to the main pump or pumps.
3. Adjust the setpoint to the desired operating pressure via the
operating panel of the pump or via Grundfos GO Remote.

4. Check the operating panel for any alarms and warnings.

8.4 Starting up the Temperature Zone
The pumps start automatically 5 seconds after the supply
voltage is connected.
If the solution is delivered with iGRID Cloud, the setpoint
must be set in the iGRID Portal before starting any pump.
1. Make sure that the main valves are open.
2. Connect the mains supply voltage to the main pump or pumps
and to the drainage pump.
3. Adjust the setpoint to the desired operating temperature via the
operating panel of the pump or via Grundfos GO Remote.
