H

S, or hydrogen sulphide, in wastewater transport systems can
cause the following:
•
bad smell
•
corrosion of pipes, pits and pumps
•
health and safety issues.
The fully automatic Grundfos Hydrogen Sulphide Solution consists
of a number of Grundfos components. The components combine to
deliver an effective and reliable solution for
hydrogen sulphide issues in manholes and pumping stations in A to
B single-line sewer installations.
A gasphase logger in the manhole measures H
2
S levels at short
intervals, sending the results to Grundfos Remote Management
(GRM) which also receives flow measurements from Grundfos
Dedicated Controls. An advanced control algorithm in GRM then
calculates the dosing setpoint for chemicals accurately and
proportionally to the system flow rate. The dosing data is sent to the
SMART Digital dosing pump which handles the chemical dosing
with great accuracy, even at varying flow patterns.

CU 362 can handle a SMART Digital DDA dosing pump controlled
via GENIbus or an Analog dosing pump controlled via digital output
and analog output. It can be configured in menu 4.2.14.1.

8.2.18 Flush from pit
Flush from pit can be used to pump a large volume of liquid out of
the pit in an attempt to flush the discharge pipes. It can be used in
both fixed- and variable-speed controlled systems.
When enabled, the following settings are available:
•
Fixed interval (flush from pit is done at fixed intervals)
•
Fixed daily time (flush from pit is done at a fixed daily time)
•
Level (level where all pumps are started)
•
Start interval (how often the flush from pit should be done)
•
Daily start time (time for fixed daily flush from pit).
The "Flush from pit" function activates after "Start interval" or "Daily
start time" is reached. All pumps start when "Level" is reached, and
continue to run until the normal stop level is reached. The
controller ignores the normal start levels when the "Flush from pit"
function is active.
Note that "Level" can be set above the normal start levels.
This enables to have as much water volume available when
flushing from pit as possible. It can also include the volume in the
inlet pipe if desired.

8.3 Communication settings
CU 362 must have a CIM module (Communication Interface
Module) fitted to be able to transfer data to the SCADA system or to
a mobile phone.
