Operation



Planter Locks

Machine Damage Risk

Improper use of locks will cause machine

damage. Read and understand the following

information about the locks before operating

your planter.

Machine Damage Risk

The wing flex lock pins (1) must be installed
and the wing lock pins (2) must be removed
during folding and unfolding, or machine dam

-

age will occur.

The planter may be configured with up to four sets of
locks that may require attention during the operation,
storage, and transportation of the planter.

Wing Flex Lock Pins (Option)

- Wing flex lock pins

(1) stabilize pivot during folding and unfolding, and
prevents wing flex during transport. Used when
planter is configured with Flex Wing. Same pin used
on the toolbar coupling for the wing lock.

Wing Lock Pins

- Wing lock pins (2) secure the wing

toolbar and the mainframe toolbar at the same height
with a coupling. When wing lock pin is installed at the
coupling, the outer wing is either rigid, or can flex,
dependent on the flex configuration.

Row Lock-Up Pins

- Row lock-up pins (3) are used

when  converting  twin  row  to  single  row  spacing.
Used  when  planter  is  configured  with  twin  row
spacing  but  will  be  used  for  single  row  planting
operations.  Additionally,  can  be  used  to  lock  up
individual row units, as needed.

Lift Assist Cylinder Locks (Option)

- Lift Assist

cylinder locks (4) are installed to hold the rear of the
planter at raised. Cylinder locks are stored on the lift
assist weldments. Used when planter is configured
with Lift Assist.

The following tables will summarize lock usage by
task:

Row Lock-Up Pins are only used with twin row spacing

during single row planting operations. The short row units
(the front) should be locked up. Row Lock-Up Pins are
stowed at all other times.
