PL5200 Planter

Table of Contents

Pre-Delivery Instructions

You will install the height switch in a way to
ensure whisker (12) will make contact with
the tractor lift arms on planters configured
with 3-point hitches, or with the lift assist
gauge wheel assembly parallel arms near
the hydraulic cylinder on planters
configured with 2-point hitches.

2. Secure the magnet (1) with one bolt (2), one

washer (3), and one nut (4) on mounting bracket
(5).

3. Secure bracket (7) with the one bolt (6) and one

wing nut (8) to bracket (5).

4. Secure the height switch sensor (11) with two

nuts (9) and two washers (10) on mounting
bracket (7).

5. Using the magnet, secure the height switch to the

side of the lift assist gauge wheels. The whisker
(12) should make contact with the parallel arms
in the lift assist gauge wheel assembly near the
hydraulic cylinder.

Height Switch Electrical Connections

The sensor will plug into the extension harness, and
the extension harness will plug into the main
electrical harness. While making connections

ensure the electrical wires are clear of moving parts
and will not be pinched, crushed, or otherwise
damaged from nearby moving parts. If necessary,
use zip ties to secure the electrical wires in place;
leave enough slack to allow for machine movement
during operation.

Connect the black wired connector on the sensor to
the  corresponding  black  wired  connector  on  the
extension  harness.  Connect  the  green  wired
connector on the sensor to the corresponding green
wired  connector  on  the  extension  harness.  There
will  be  an  unused  red  wired  connector  on  the
sensor. The height switch will operate as follows:

It is possible to change the function of the whisker
position by connecting the red wired connector on
the sensor to the green wired connector on the
extension harness. There will be an unused green
wired connector on the sensor. In this configuration,
the height switch will operate as follows:

The black wired connector on the sensor
will always be connected to the black wired
connector on the extension harness.
