The dummy engine can now be glued in the cowl. Ensure that the front edge of the
engine lies concentric to the cowl, and parallel with its front face; when you are
confident of this, apply a few drops of cyano round the periphery to hold the dummy
engine in place.
Slide the cowl onto the front end of the fuselage, and position it with about 10 mm
clearance between the front face of the cowl and the back face of the propeller. With
the cowl in this position, measure off the location of the four retaining screws, which
should ideally coincide with the centre of the four cowl retaining blocks. Drill 2 mm Ø
pilot-holes for the cowl screws before fitting them. The final work on the fuselage is to
screw the canopy in place, and glue the aerial fairing and air intake to the fuselage,
as shown in the photos.

Note that the aerial fairing and the air intake must first be trimmed to fit neatly on the
fuselage.
The aileron servos should be installed at this stage, i.e. before the wing panels are
glued together. You may need to adjust the existing apertures in the wing to suit the
servos you intend to install. The photos show the installation of DS 3328 servos.
Lengthen the servo leads by connecting long extension leads, Order No. 3935.32, to
them. Shrink a piece of heat-shrink sleeve round each connector to prevent them
coming adrift. Draw the servo leads through the wings and out of the root ribs..
Fit the aileron servos in the wing apertures as shown in the photo, and secure them
with the retaining screws supplied in the servo accessory packs.
Mark the position of the horns on the ailerons. Note that the pushrod should run
parallel to the long side of the servo, and that the pushrod linkage point should
coincide with the aileron hinge pivot axis.
Fix the horns to the ailerons using two screws, a spreader plate and two M2 nuts
each. Snip off the excess screw length using a pair of side-cutters, and file the ends
back flush with the spreader plates.
