STEP 7
Secure Blocker Plate & Attach Flap Spring
A) Drill and install six remaining tee nuts and bolts to
secure blocker plate.
B) Use a small box end wrench to hook spring over
post on hinge assembly.
C) If needed, reposition flap to make good seal. Tighten
flap mounting bolts

STEP 8
Install Cable
A) Slip rubber boot off fitting by pulling at base of boot.
Remove Nut 1 and slip cable wire into slot.
B) Put cable fitting into hole and snug jam nuts leaving
minimum thread showing between Nut 1 and
rubber boot.
DO NOT connect clevis to flap at this time.
DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN NUTS.

Blocker plate can be formed to fit discharge opening
using heat. Apply heat slowly to both sides of the
blocker plate, constantly moving heat until plate bends
easy.
DO NOT OVER HEAT.
Hint: Over bend the angle as the plate will straighten
some as it cools.

A) Slide a 3/8” drive extension into one of the holes in the hinge plate

C) Step on the plate and pull the pipe toward you to bend the plate as neede
d.
BENDING HINGE PLATE (OPTIONAL)
B) Use a piece of pipe over the extension for leverage
D) Repeat in the other holes to form a curve if needed.
