7 ELECTRICAL ADJUSTMENTS
7.13 Adjusting the Pen Exchange Height Value (CE5000-120AP)
This adjustment will set the pen exchange height value (SIKII).
This value is used for pen selection.
The plotter reads the pen height position when the power is turned on.
If the pen height position value is higher than this value (SIKII) the plotter knows it has taken the 2nd pen.
If the pen height position value is lower than this value (SIKII) the plotter knows it has taken the 1st pen.
If you replace the main board, use the following procedure to input the recorded adjustment values.
If you replace the pen block, you must adjust the pen exchange height value using the following procedure.
(1) Load a cutting sheet in the plotter.
(2) Turn on the power while pressing the TEST and ENTER keys.
(3) Select the media mode.
(4) Press the PAUSE key to display the menu shown below.
(This menu is not displayed when the main board is new type.)

(5) Press the NEXT key until the following menu is displayed.
PEN 1/2 SIKII
(6) Press the ENTER key to display the menu shown below.
DPOS= 0 SH=+80
(7) If you replaced the main board only, input the values that are recorded on the chassis. (default factory
settings)
Press the UP or DOWN ARROW key to change the SIKII value.
(8) If you replaced the pen block, mount a cutter pen in the cutter pen holder.
(9) Press the RIGHT ARROW key to lower the cutter pen and read the DPOS value for the 1st pen height
position.
(10) Mount a ball-point pen in the 2nd pen holder. (The pen holder on the right side.)
(11) Press the RIGHT ARROW key to lower the 2nd pen and read the DPOS value for the 2nd pen height
position.
(12) Calculate the SIKII value and input the value using the UP ARROW key or the DOWN ARROW key.
SH(SIKII) = (1st pen DPOS + 2nd pen DPOS)/2
Example: 1st pen DPOS=122, 2nd pen DPOS=53
(122+53)/2=87.5
Input 87 for SH (SIKII) value (Input integer number of calculated value.)
(13) Press the ENTER key to store the setting and complete the adjustment.
