Playing a DVD+R/+RW

Follow these steps to play a DVD
that you’ve recorded on the DVD
RVCR.

Press POWER to turn on the DVD
RVCR.

Press DVD to control the DVD deck.

Load your DVD+R/RW in the disc tray
with the label side up.
• Press EJECT to open and close the

disc tray.

Press PLAY



or DISC MENU to view

the DVD Disc Menu.
• All Titles (recorded programs) on

the DVD+R/RW are displayed.

Press



to select the Title you

want to play and press ENTER.
• To switch to a text-based Disc

Menu, select the “Text View” icon
and press ENTER. Only in Text View
can you see the full name of your
recorded titles; see page 43.

• To switch back to the graphical

menu, select the “Thumbnail View”
icon and press ENTER.

• For special playback options, see

page 40.

DVD/Tape Playback

Playing a DVD

Follow these steps to play a DVD.

Press POWER to turn on the DVD
RVCR.

Press DVD to control the DVD deck.

Load your DVD in the disc tray with
the label side up.
• Press EJECT to

open and close
the disc tray.

Press PLAY



start playback.
• Many DVD discs

play auto-
matically when
loaded.

• If the DVD has a Disc Menu, or more

than one Title, the Disc Menu may
appear. If so, use



to high-

light options, and press ENTER to
make selections.

Playing a Tape

Follow these steps to play a VHS tape.

Press POWER to turn on the DVD
RVCR.

Press VCR to control the VCR deck.

Load your videotape in the VCR deck.

Press PLAY



to start playback.

• Many prerecorded tapes play auto-

matically when loaded.

• For special playback options, see

page 41.
