Caramatic BasicTwo
5 / 12
part no. 02 018 51
d
ADVANTAGES AND EQUIPMENT
Advantages of the two-cylinder system Caramatic BasicTwo:
•
automatic changeover to the gas cylinder on the reserve side as soon as the gas cylinder
on the operating side is empty
•
the gas cylinder can be replaced without an operational interruption - withdrawal occurs only
alternately
•
even gas supply through the optimum use of the gas cylinder content
•
corrosion resistance in accordance with EN 16129, annex M (Use in maritime
environments)
Equipment of the two-cylinder system Caramatic BasicTwo:
•
central regulator , changeover regulator each with pressure gauge
•
with pressure relief valve PRV on the central regulator
•
non-return gas valve: this means that gas escape is prevented when the gas cylinder is
changed
•
medium pressure hose assemblies
•
over fittings of 8 or 10 mm for connection to 8 or 10 mm piping
•
combined fitting for optional connection to 5, 11 or 33 kg gas cylinders
•
suitable for connection with an existing de-icer (not a recreational boat)
Pressure gauges on the central and
changeover
regulator
The pressure gauges do not display the gas cylinder contents, they show the current
(ambient temperature-dependent) pressure of around 0 to 16 bar in the gas cylinder. If one of
the pressure gauges is at “0”, the corresponding gas cylinder is empty.
De-icer option (not for recreational boats
)
To prevent disruptions to the gas system during winter
operation, the two-cylinder system Caramatic BasicTwo
can be connected with the existing de-icer 12 V
(regulator de-icing system) at the changeover regulator
.
Connection block for de-icer and pressure gauge
Optional insect protection device
Insert in the breather on the 8 mm vent socket or screw into the female
thread G 1/8.
Check regularly that the sieve is not blocked. A blocked sieve may increase or
decrease outlet pressures. Clean or replace as required.
Pressure relief valve (PRV) option
The pressure relief valve (PRV) is an automatic safety device with limited flow that is installed
in the pressure regulator to protect connected devices against inadmissible high pressures. If
there is inadmissible high pressure at the outlet side, for example due to high temperatures,
the PRV opens and relieves the excess pressure through the breather. When the pressure
falls, the PRV closes again automatically.
"PRV" is marked on the type label of the pressure regulator.
