Cleaning and Disinfecting the GlideScope Cobalt
AVL System
Warning
Caution. Risk of permanent equipment damage.
Do not expose GlideScope Cobalt AVL Video Batons to temperatures
above 60 °C (140 °F).
Make sure that you do not overheat the video baton during cleaning. You
can monitor the color of the temperature gauge on the handle to avoid
overheating the Cobalt AVL Video Baton (Figure 33).
The manufacturer’s warranty is void if the product is exposed to
temperatures above 60 °C (140 °F).

Cleaning the Cobalt AVL
Caution
Do not use autoclaves or pasteurizers for the Cobalt AVL system.
Use of such methods will cause permanent device damage and void the
warranty.
Bleach can be used on the video baton but with special attention to the
connector.
Bleach can corrode the stainless steel inserts and damage the connector pins.
The temperature indicator turns black if the GlideScope
Cobalt AVL Video Baton is heated above 60 °C.
A gray or white indicator does not indicate overheating.
