3 – Installation

Before You Begin

Planning for Installation

The Gilbarco Site Server systems consist of in-store and forecourt (at-dispenser) components. 
Plan the installation so that downtime at the site is minimized.

 

It is recommended that you 

complete the forecourt installation before you begin work on the in-store equipment.

For the Applause Media System installation and startup process, you must fill the 
Applause Media System installation checklist provided in 

“Appendix A - Applause Media 

System Installation Checklist”

 on 

page A-1

, and carry it with you to the site.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Perform the start-up procedure (loading the software from USB drive or CD-ROM and 
configuration) on the Gilbarco Site Server (setup and programming) before site delivery, 
whenever possible. This procedure will shorten the start-up time onsite. You need the location 
ID and Control Center hostname for the location to configure the server.

The Gilbarco Site Server must be registered before it can be used to display content. You will 
be prompted to register the site server online after installing the software and configuring the 
server settings. You need the site server serial number and Learning Management System 
(LMS) ID number to register the server.

Work Area Precautions

• Energized circuits may cause severe injury or death.
• Ensure that power to the components and areas affected has been turned off and the 

appropriate lockout/tagout steps have been taken.

WARNING

Unauthorized access into the work area may present a personal injury hazard. Ensure 
that work areas are properly barricaded.
