15 Visual weld bead inspection
Each and every fusion weld should be
visually checked by the operator
The process status only indicates whether the fusion parameters, such as
temperature, cooling time, etc., have been observed. It does not provide
information on the quality of the fusion joint.
16 Creating stored fusion logs and
labels
Quality assurance requirements and the dictated documentation are becoming
more stringent. Often, end customers will request complete documentation on
the installation of a system. This makes it necessary to clearly identify every
fusion weld in a system in order to warrant unequivocable traceability.
The BCF Plus machine from Georg Fischer make it possible to connect a label
printer and a protocol printer. Two labels are printed simultaneously for each
fusion so that one can be placed directly next to the weld and the other on the
piping system plan. Documentation and traceability of each individual fusion
weld is thereby guaranteed.
The BCF Plus machine has 2 USB interfaces:
If an output device is connected to one of these interfaces, the fusion data
(logs) are automatically created or stored.
The internal memory capacity of the electronic system is approx. 2500 fusion
logs. Consequently, the last 2500 fusions can be called up from the circular
buffer. In the Annex, Chapter 24, a fusion log and the respective label are
illustrated.
