GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF DRILLING RIG 

 

8.1 Description of drilling rig 
 

The XD5 is a machine designed to drill boreholes using rotary-driven tools. 
The machine architecture is innovative and patented. 
The  vertical  alignment  is  automatic  by  gravity,  and  the  kelly  bar  is  round 
telescopic  and  interlocking.  The  drilling  system  is  mounted  on  crawler  with 
reduced  dimensions  with  the  possibility,  therefore,  to  operate  on  small 
spaces.  The  translational  and  rotational  movements  are  implemented  by 
means  of  hydraulic  devices.  In  case  of  need  the  drilling  equipment  can  be 
easily  replaced  with  the  bucket  arm  returning  the  machine  in  the  original 
configuration of miniexcavator. 
The only source of power on the machine is a diesel engine mounted on the 
crawler.
