OPERATING THE DRILLING RIG 

 

6.1 Getting Started 
 

6.1.1 

Positioning on the ground of the drilling machine 

 
The machine must operate on a flat surface. 
The ground contact of crawlers must be uniform. For this purpose, the dozer 
blade can be used for leveling the ground when present small irregularities. 
It can also be used to lift the machine to make it work on a flat surface (up to 
a slope of 4%).

Configuration of the mast, tracks and dozer blade. 

 
The mast should be brought to the maximum height subject to space 
available. This operation is obtained by operating the manipulator B. This 
allows the tool, during rising, to reach the maximum height. In this way, by 
rotating the turret, the download of the soil extracted from the hole can be 
made laterally. The track width of the undercarriage must be brought to the 
maximum width and the blade (extended)) resting on the ground to increase 
the stability. 

 

6.1.3 

Testing the winch DOWN limit switch  

 
When  laying  the  tool  on  the  ground,  check  the  rope  of  the  main  winch:  it 
should  not  loosen  further  (i.e.,  the  winch  should  not  turn)  even  if  you 
insistently  operate  the  kelly  bar

’s  descent  control.  If  the  rope  continues  to 

unwind, check whether the limit switch has been disabled. If the limit switch is 
not  disabled  contact  the  service  department.  You  can  continue  to  work
