Chapter 6
OPERATING THE DRILLING RIG
5
6.2.2
Operations forbidden when drilling a borehole
During actual drilling (bucket rotating) it is strictly forbidden:
•
to move the rig
•
to rotate the pivot cab
6.2.3
Precautions when drilling a borehole
During the operations described in
Par. 6.2.1
, care
should be taken that no one comes close to rig’s work
area. Should this occur, halt operations until safety
conditions are restored. When unloading the excavated
material, the person in charge of removing it should wait at a safe distance
and move in to remove the material only when the rig is once again aligned
with the borehole and starting to lower the tool. This way the removal of the
excavated material can be done efficiently and safely.
6.3 Operation of the auxiliary winch
6.3.1
Operation and auxiliary winch operating limits
The auxiliary winch should only be used when tracks are
stationary and for moving equipment related to the execution
of the hole.
Before using the winch you must set up the joystick A to this function through
the selector D1.
Moving the joystick forward to the rope unwind, while pulling back on the rope
wind.
Before you start, release the rope from the eye bolt after slight loosening of
the same.
The winch must raise the load according to a vertical trajectory or with a
deviation not exceeding 20 ° from the vertical, see
figure 6.3.1.2
.
Figure 6.4.1.1.
shows the area of work permitted (hatched area). Further
restrictions impose both to handle the load in the visual field of the operator at
the controls and to use the correct cable. These limits also apply to the short
jib.
Lift or drag with angle greater than the limit given 20 °, can give rise to tilting
forces dangerous for the stability of the machine.
