Chapter 8 Maintenance

To Inspect and Clean the Handset

Disconnect the power cord from the power source.

Check for damage or contamination, including any bent pins on the electrical
connector.

Clean all parts of the handset, including the fiberoptic connector. Use a soft cloth
dampened with glass cleaner or 70% alcohol-to-water solution.

To Clean the Insertion Tube Storage Reel

Disconnect the AC power cord from the power source.

Remove the insertion tube from the funnel.

Loosen the two screws, and remove the funnel.

Wipe inside the funnel and inside the reel. Use a soft cloth dampened with glass
cleaner or 70% alcohol-to-water solution.

Replace the access panel.
