4. Connect an external device.
Note:
This step is optional. If you are not connecting an external device, go to the next step.
To connect the device, do the following:
a. Remove 0.12 to 0.28 in. (3 to 7 mm) of the outer jacket of the cable from the external device
(AWG #16 to 28 single core, twisted) and twist the core of the power cord to prevent a short circuit

b. Loosen the screws of the external I/O terminals plug and insert the cables from the external device
into the external I/O terminals plug until the exposed core wires are completely hidden

c. Tighten the screws to secure the inserted cables. Make sure that the exposed core wires are
completely hidden after tightening the screws.
Note:
Do not connect two more wires directly to a terminal. If it is necessary to connect two or more wires, use a splitter.
d. Insert the external I/O terminals plug into the external I/O terminals on the mounting side of the
camera (
Figure 23
). Make sure the plug is firmly inserted into the terminals.
