9 Warnings and safety precautions
Warning!
!
•
In case of patients with implanted electronic device please carry out electrical stimulation
treatment only after having checked whether there is any risk.
•
Pieces of jewellery and glasses have to be taken off during the treatment.
•
Turn off cellular phones and radiophones or place them in a distance of 3 m from the
device.
•
Cardiac pacemakers can extremely be disturbed. In these cases the therapy should be
carried out only under continuous pulse and ECG control.
•
If the patient and/or the patient cable is in direct range of high frequency, shortwave or
microwave therapeutic device, a damage to the device or an injury to the patient cannot be
excluded. Please keep a distance of at least 3 m.
•
A simultaneous connection of the patient to a high-frequency surgery device can lead to
burns under the electrical stimulus electrodes.
•
The device is not designed for use in non-explosion-proof areas. If it is used in dangerous
anesthesia areas, an explosion cannot be excluded.
•
It is recommended not to exceed the current density of 2 mA/cm
2
on all electrode surfaces.
•
The electrodes must
adhere completely to the skin
in order to avoid
excessive local
current density
. Otherwise there can occur erythemas, and sometimes even
burns
.
•
