10 Maintaining and Troubleshooting the Gateway ALR 9000 Server

12. Align the CPU card with the card guides on the chassis (as shown in Figure

8) and gently push the card into the slot.

13. Install CPU card

A

face down so that the CPUs are located on the underside.

Install CPU card

B

face up with CPUs on top.

14. As you push the card in, adjust the ejector arms so they latch on to the

mounting bracket as shown in Figure 9.

15. Push the ejector arms inward until the CPU card is locked into place.

16. Reinstall the screws you removed in step 2.

17. Close the system as described on page 16.

The CPU cards must be firmly
seated and locked in their
respective card slots (A and B)
or the CPUs will be damaged
