NOTE: Basemap and Terrain databases transfer automatically without any prompting
or progress indications. They do not require pilot confirmation or a unit restart.
NOTE:
The GI 275 can receive database updates from another compatible Garmin
LRUs but will only provide database updates to a GI 275, GPS 175, GNC 355, or GNX
375.
Database sync using a connected Garmin LRU (optional):
1)
Load updated databases into the connected compatible Garmin LRU (e.g., a GTN 650 or
another MFI). See the pertinent flight manual for the specific LRUs for more details.
2)
Databases will synchronize in the background automatically accompanied by a "Database
sync transfer in progress" advisory.
If synchronizing databases only between GI 275s and the aircraft is on the ground,
selecting the
Fast Sync
Button increases database transfer speed and displays transfer
progress but disables screen use until the transfers are complete.

When the database sync is completed and the aircraft has been on the ground since
power has been applied to the MFI, a "Database Sync Complete Activate Now?" alert
appears. Select the
Yes
Button. The 'DB Update' Menu appears.
4)
Select the
Update Selected
Button.
5) Wait for databases to update. A progress bar is shown for each selected update.
6) When all database updates are complete, select the Restart Unit Button.
