Reviewing information for a 'Map' Page feature:
1)
From the 'Map' Page, touch a map feature. If the desired map feature is not within the
zoom range, touch the map to activate the panning function, then touch and drag to the
location of the map feature and touch the map feature.
2) Select the Waypoint Info Button or the Airspace Info Button to display additional
information.
3) If the map feature is an airport, select the General Info Button to display information
about the airport; or select the Runways Button to display runway information; or select
the Frequencies Button to display available frequencies.
4.3 DIRECT TO AND FLIGHT PLAN NAVIGATION
WARNING:
Do not use GPS to navigate to any active waypoint identified as a ‘NON
WGS84 WPT’ by a system message. ‘NON WGS84 WPT’ waypoints are derived from
an unknown map reference datum that may be incompatible with the map reference
datum used by GPS (known as WGS84) and may be positioned in error as displayed.
DIRECT TO NAVIGATION
This portion of the guide will discuss the Direct To navigation function available on the MFI
when either a GTX is configured as a primary GPS source, or when using the internal VFR GPS
with no external source. For information concerning loss of GPS, see the Abnormal portion at
the end of this Navigation Section.
The Direct To method of navigation allows quick selection of a destination and provides
guidance to the selected point. Once a Direct To is activated, a point-to-point course line is
created from the present position to the selected Direct To destination. Course guidance is
provided until the Direct To is replaced with a new Direct To or until cancelled.
