MAP OPTIONS - PRIMARY HSI

When the MFI is configured as a Primary HSI, both the 'HSI' Page and 'HSI Map' Page are

available. Map options for the 'HSI Map' Page are discussed as follows. Course and Heading
controls using either the 'HSI' Page or the 'HSI Map' Page are discussed in the Flight Instruments
Section.

Cities, Rivers and Lakes, Roads, State Borders, Intersections, NDBs, VORs, and VRPs are

always displayed on the 'HSI Map' Page depending on map range and detail level. If configured,
SafeTaxi information will also be displayed depending on map range and detail level.

NOTE:

Some map options may or may not be available depending on what external

source is available to provide the necessary data

Airspace

Display settings for airspace on the 'HSI Map' Page may be set to 'Off' to remove airspace

from being shown on the navigation map, or 'All' to display all airspace. Airspace may also be
displayed based on its vertical boundaries by choosing to only show airspace below a certain
altitude. For example, if 'Below 3000FT' is selected, only airspace below 3000 feet will be
depicted on the map. This may result in only some rings of the Class B or Class C airspace
being displayed if no portion of that ring extends below 3000 feet.
