Autopilot Pre-flight Inspections
Test the controls for proper operation of the control surfaces. The controls
should feel normal; the servos add little resistance.
•

PFD switch
ON
•
MFD switch
ON
•
Observe boot sequence
•
Check AHRS:
Observe AHRS alignment during
PFD startup, verify valid attitude
behavior within 2 minutes after
startup
•
Check magnetometer:
Observe HSI, verify valid
magnetometer data within 2
minutes after PFD startup
•
Check GPS reception:
Select info page on PFD-screen.
Verify valid GPS data
•
Check AP mode indication:
Touch autopilot status box, then
touch AP. Verify indication of
active autopilot and roll hold
mode and pitch hold mode in
autopilot status box.
•
Check AP disengage using the PFD-screen: Touch autopilot status,
then touch AP. Verify indication
of active autopilot and roll hold
mode and pitch hold mode
disappears, Verify easy
movement of controls
•
Check AP quick disengage:
Activate autopilot, then press
disengage pushbutton on pilot
control stick. Verify active
autopilot and roll hold mode and
pitch hold mode disappears,
Verify easy movement of controls
