Put the MFD into configuration mode.

Push and hold the far right softkey on the MFD.

Engage the MFD circuit breaker.

Release softkey when the message "INITIALIZING SYSTEM" is shown on the MFD.

Allow the MFD to power up completely in configuration mode.

Put the pilot’s PFD (PFD1) into configuration mode.

Put the spare SD card (or the 525B Maintenance SD Card for V3.2 or later) into the
top slot of the pilot’s PFD (PFD1).

Push and hold the far right softkey on the pilot's PFD.

Engage the L PFD circuit breaker.

Release softkey when the message "INITIALIZING SYSTEM" is shown on the PFD.

The Pilot’s PFD defaults to the SYSTEM UPLOAD page.
NOTE:
If Model 525B CMC Config or similar does not appear in the GROUP
window of the SYSTEM UPLOAD page, verify that the AVTN_CFG.GCA
file exists in the root directory of the spare SD card you are using.

Initialize the Garmin GTC 570 touch screen controllers in configuration mode as follows:

Left Garmin GTC 570 touch screen controller.

Engage the L TOUCH CONTROL circuit breaker while you push and hold the
right inner knob on the left touch screen controller.

Release the right knob when INITIALIZING SYSTEM appears on the left touch
screen controller.

Right Garmin GTC 570 touch screen controller.

Engage the R TOUCH CONTROL circuit breaker while you push and hold the
right inner knob on the right touch screen controller.

Release the knob when INITIALIZING SYSTEM appears on the right MFD touch
screen controller.

Upload the CMC Diagnostics Configuration.
(1)
Push the PFD knob on the GCU display controller that is located above the pilot's PFD to start
the curser.
(2)
Rotate the inner PFD knob on the GCU to open the drop down box underneath GROUP on the
PFD.
(3)
Highlight Model 525B CMC Config in the GROUP window.
(4)
Push ENT on the GCU.
(5)
Turn the inner PFD knob again to select 6308914-1, (or latest revision) from the ITEM window.
(6)
Push ENT on the GCU. Several files should now be listed in the PRODUCT window.
(7)
Push the LOAD softkey on the PFD.
(8)
Allow the upload until a green PASS appears in each file configuration and crossfill is completed.
(9)
Push ENTER on the GCU when the Upload Complete window appears.
(10) Remove electrical power from the airplane.
(a)
Put the BATTERY switch to the OFF position.
(b)
Remove external electrical power from the airplane.
(11) Remove the spare SD card from the pilot’s PFD (for software version 3.2 or later move the 525B
Maintenance SD Card back to the top slot of the MFD).
