Motherboard:
The motherboard is the mainboard of a computer on which
further components are installed (for example processor and
main storage).
Multi-channel:
The multi-channel variants of the DVIVision support several
video signals for each computer. Up to three video signals of
each computer can be connected to the variant MC3, for
example.
NUM:
In addition to the numerical keys of the main key block, the
numerical key block of a keyboard is also provided with
numerical keys.
To differentiate between these numerical keys, the identifier
NUM is prefixed to the keys of the numerical key block
(e.g. NUM 1).
Numeric key:
The ten numeric keys of the standard keyboard are located in
the upper row of the main key block. These keys are labelled
with 1 to 0.
Panel:
The required panel to operate the extension DVI-Power usu-
ally is an input device with two separate keys. The panel is
not
included in the scope of the delivery of the extension.
PS/2 interface:
The PS/2 interface is a common interface for the connection
of input devices such as keyboard and mouse. To distinguish
the connection of keyboard and mouse, different colour
codes (purple: keyboard; green: mouse) are used.
Reset:
A reset causes the computer to reboot. Most computer cas-
ings contain a special reset button.
Scancode set:
If a key on the keyboard is pressed, the keyboard processor
sends a data packet called scancode.
There are two common scancode sets (sets 2 and 3), which
contain different scancodes. The majority of the recent key-
boards use the scancode set 2. The DVIVision system inter-
prets all inputs of a PS/2 keyboard by default with the
scancode set 2.
Setup key:
By pressing a setup key, a function can be released after the
activation of the setup mode
Setup mode:
After the setup mode of the DVIVision system has been acti-
vated, you can change the preset key combinations, reset the
default settings or change the scancode set of the PS/2 key-
board.
Shift key:
The Shift key of a keyboard is pressed to key in a capital let-
ter instead of the respective small letter.
User module:
The transmitted signals of the computer module are received
at the user module and displayed at the console.
