SING A MAINTENANCE BYPASS SWITCH
An external maintenance bypass switch can be connected to the UPS.
7.1
Putting the UPS into maintenance bypass mode
When present, an external maintenance bypass switch allows the UPS to be manually shut down for
servicing without affecting the loads.
THE MAINTENANCE BYPASS SWITCH MAY BE OPERATED BY
QUALIFIED SERVICE PERSONNEL ONLY
To put the system in maintenance bypass mode:
1.
Verify that the bypass indicator is lit on the static switch (if it is not lit, the UPS cannot go into bypass
mode).
2.
On the controller front panel, press the INV/BYP button twice to put the UPS in bypass mode.
3.
Verify that the bypass indicator is lit on the controller.
4.
Switch ON the external maintenance bypass circuit breaker.
5.
Switch OFF the external ac output circuit breaker.
6.
Switch OFF the external rectifier input switch.
7.
Disconnect the dc fuses.
The UPS is now available for service or maintenance as required.
7.2
Returning the UPS to normal operation
To move the system from maintenance bypass mode to normal operation mode:
1.
Connect the dc fuses.
2.
Switch ON the external rectifier input switch.
3.
Switch ON the UPS ().
4.
Press the INV/BYP button twice to put the UPS into bypass mode.
5.
Verify that the bypass indicator is lit on the controller.
6.
Switch ON the external ac output circuit breaker.
7.
Switch OFF the external maintenance bypass circuit breaker.
8.
On the controller front panel, press the INV/BYP button twice put the UPS in inverter (normal) mode.
9.
Verify that the green INV indicator is lit on the controller front panel.
The loads are now supplied by the UPS.
