Attach the expansion card to the PCI slot.

When installing a SAS array controller card (PG-248C1 / PG-248G)

`

A SAS array controller card (PG-248C1 / PG-248G) is supplied with a battery backup unit.              
Make sure to install the battery backup unit to the appropriate location on the server and con-                
nect the battery backup unit cable. For installation procedures for battery backup unit, refer to              
"6.5.4 Installing a Battery Backup Unit" (

pg.168) .

When installing a SAS array controller card (PG-248B / PG-248C1) in PCI slot 1

Connect the internal hard disk cable which is disconnected in Step 4 to a SAS array controller                
card. 

 

For 3.5-inch hard disk type, check the indications of the cables, "MLC1" or "MLC 2" and make                
sure to connect both cables to the corresponding outlets.

 

For 2.5-inch SAS hard disk type, connect the cable to the "MLC1" outlet.
