SONAbeam Power Requirements
SONAbeam E – Series terminals are factory configured to operate from either 90 –
240VAC or a SELV (Secondary Extra Low Voltage) -48VDC power source. An earthed,
power system is required in which connection to the earthing electrode is located at the
source and separate earthed and protective earthed conductors are provided throughout
the system.
The power requirements of the E Series SONAbeam terminal are:

NOTE…
When powering your terminal from an AC source, the SONAbeam terminal should be
powered from dedicated branch circuit…
The input to the terminal is protected by a user-resettable circuit breaker…
The terminal’s window heater is never activated in temperatures above 25 ° C…
WARNINGS!
Power cabling to the Customer Interface Box should be no less than 16 AWG – with 14
AWG recommended for cabling runs longer than 100 feet (30 m).
18 AWG is recommended for power cabling from your Customer Interface Box to the
SONAbeam terminal.
Stated voltage requirements are at the terminal’s input power connector strip and NOT
the voltage source!
Always remove power when making connections between the power source and the
Customer Interface Box or SONAbeam terminal!
A two-pole source power disconnect device MUST be implemented when the neutral
wire cannot be identified at the terminal.
