5.3 PROGRAMMING INDICATIONS
Decide whether you want to use the ALL PID OUT function, the ADD ALL THE MUX PR
functions or to program the programs singularly (PID) that must be available in output.
Selecting the ALL PID OUT or ADD ALL THE MUX PR functions, all the programs available in
the input transport stream will be available in output; furthermore, with ALL PID OUT certain
functions will be deactivated (e.g. LCN overflow management, single PID management, etc.).
If the programs are programmed singularly (PID) for them to be available on output, the
indications given below must be scrupulously followed.
Programming and setting the modulation parameters for the 3DG-2S2-2T module must be
done very carefully in the manner described below. In particular, the total output program bitrate
for each mux must be lower than the maximum limit defined by the modulation parameters.
Therefore special attention must be paid when selecting the ALL PID OUT function because,
if the total output program bitrate exceeds the maximum limit, the module generates a bitrate
overflow with the risk that the selected programs are not distributed correctly.
To know the maximum available bitrate, refer to the following tables, which give the bitrates
in kbit/s according to certain modulation parameters. The given measures refer to an output
frequency bandwidth of 8 MHz; with a bandwidth of 6 MHz or 7 MHZ the values are lower.
PARAMETER TABLES
The COFDM modulation parameters (number of carriers, constellation, FEC, guard interval)
can be set by the installer so that the system is much stronger in critical installation conditions
(for example, with spurious cases, several adjacent channels, transmission with errors, etc.).
IMPORTANT: in standard installation schemes, it is advisable to keep the COFDM
modulation settings on the default values.
