FIND.FILE
PURPOSE:
Locate files on a particular drive and return information pertaining to
the file including the directory where it can be found.
HOW TO USE:
The following is a list of functions available when using
FIND.FILE:
RETURN
Continues searching other directories, if any,
for occurrence of the stated file name.
S P A C E
Will cause the scrolling of the listing of the to
pause.
E S C
Exits the program and returns to the program
selector.
D
Displays to the screen the contents of the file
in HEX and ASCII formats. Option for
printer.
T
Types the file to the screen. Control characters
may be inverse video and may not print.
Option for printer.
L
Works with Basic files. Produces formatted
listing of programs where all statements are
shown on separate lines, loops and condition-
al are indented.
R
If the file found is a SYS file will run the
file.
* o r =
Are ‘wild cards’. Can be used anywhere in a
file name to represent unspecified characters.
FTND.FILE wilt prompt you for a slot and drive and a file name.
It will search through the entire disk. If found, the directory con-
taining the file and data concerning it will be displayed. Next,
you will be prompted to enter one of the above commands. If the
