Power off and open the Print Controller X4(AR-PE1), as described in “To shut down the
Print Controller X4(AR-PE1)” on page 4-3 and “To open the
Print Controller X4(AR-PE1)” on page 4-4.

Unplug the 3-pin fan connector from motherboard connector CFAN.

Grasp the fan housing and gently pull it out of its holes on the front panel.

Remove the fan housing (with the fan attached) from the tray.

Press the back of the fan until it releases from the fan housing, and then remove the fan
cable from the fan housing.

Insert the new fan into the fan housing, and then press the fan cable into place in the
fan housing.

An arrow on the side of the fan indicates the airflow direction. Make sure the fan is
positioned so that the arrow points toward the interior of the chassis.

Align the fan housing clips with the holes in the front panel and then press the fan
housing into place.

Plug the 3-pin fan connector into motherboard connector CFAN.

Reassemble the Print Controller X4(AR-PE1) and verify functionality (see the steps
described in “Restoring Print Controller X4(AR-PE1) functionality after service” on
page 4-11).
