REMOVE
THE
COPIER
INTERFACE
BOARD
1.
Power off and open the Print Controller X4(AR-PE1) as described in “To shut down the
Print Controller X4(AR-PE1)” on page 4-3 and “To open the
Print Controller X4(AR-PE1)” on page 4-4.
2.
Make sure the copier interface cable connected to the back of the
Print Controller X4(AR-PE1) is removed.
3.
Remove the board mounting bracket screw that secures the board.
4.
Remove the copier interface board from motherboard connector PCI2.
Grasp the board at the front and back edge and gently pull it straight out of its connector
on the motherboard.
5.
Place the board in an antistatic bag.

1.
Reseat the copier interface board in motherboard connector PCI2. The component side of
the copier interface board should be facing down towards the bottom of the tray.
When replacing the copier interface board, slide it straight into the board guides. As you
plug the board into PCI2, make sure that the board connectors are properly aligned with
the motherboard connector. The board connector is keyed to fit only one way on the
motherboard.
2.
Attach the board mounting bracket screws to the bracket.
3.
Reassemble the Print Controller X4(AR-PE1) and verify its functionality (see the
connection verification steps described in “Restoring Print Controller X4(AR-PE1)
functionality after service” on page 4-11).
Be sure to connect the copier interface cable to the connector in slot 3.
