Preparation for restore

To be able to restore a backup, the files previously created during backup are required. To do this, the
"\images" directory with the backup files is copied to the USB stick.

Preparation for update

The "\images" directory with the update files is required to install an update. The directory is included
in the archive and must be copied to the root directory of the USB stick.

Restore backup, install software or firmware update

The following is required for the Restore process or the update:
–

Service USB stick for the BSS application

–

Backup/update files

1. Plug service USB stick into the handheld terminal CDSA-D3-RV.
2. Restart (disconnect and reconnect power supply).
3. Select menu option "Backup & Restore".
4. Select menu option "Restore".
5. Select service USB stick as the source for the restore or update and confirm with the "Restore"

button.

6. Confirm dialogue with the "OK" button.

The restore or update process is started and a progress bar is displayed. The process takes 15
to 20 minutes. The duration of the process depends on the type of USB stick.

7. After the successful restore or update process, confirm the dialogue.
8. Remove the USB memory stick.
9. Select "Shutdown" to switch off or "Reboot" to restart the handheld terminal.

The backup has been restored or the software or firmware has been updated.
