The device can also be rebooted with the help of suitable software è FestoFieldDeviceTool (FFT).
9 Operation
NOTICE!
A flash storage medium permits a limited number of write cycles.
If the number of write cycles has been exceeded, there is a danger of a hardware defect.
•
For cyclical write operations (e.g. logging), use the temporary file system in the RAM or a remov-
able storage medium
The run-up or start-up process of the handheld terminal CDSA-D3-RV after insertion can be monitored
on the screen and runs in the following sequence:
1. Load bootloader.
2. Load firmware and start firmware.
3. Query whether the device configuration (Setup Mask) should be opened (2 seconds).
4. Press the "Scan Network" button to search for controllers.
5. Select target controller from the list on the left-hand side.
Confirm the "Save Persistently" checkbox to save the connection to the controller permanently.
When the device is restarted, the connection to this controller is automatically established. A dia-
logue is displayed for 2 seconds to disconnect the saved connection.
6. To set up the connection to the controller, press the "OK" button.
7. Start visualisation of the controller.
10 Maintenance
10.1 Trigger restart
A restart of the handheld terminal CDSA-D3-RV can be triggered at runtime.
•
Press and hold the [MENU] and [STOP] keys for approx. 10 seconds.
10.2 Create backup
NOTICE!
Possible data loss.
Data security on a USB stick cannot be guaranteed for an extended period.
•
Copy backup files to a backed up EDP system .
A backup can be created via the Bootable Service System (BSS). The BSS is a program that opens
automatically when the handheld terminal CDSA-D3-RV is started with the service USB stick connec-
ted.
