11.4Replacing the cutting blades
The blades of the planer must be marked with the name or logo of the manufacturer and
should indicate the maximum rotation allowed. The blades suitable for this machine are HSS
250 X 30 X 3 mm blades and in any case must comply with standard EN 847-1.
Figure 35 – Diagram of the shaft and the locking wedges of the blades.
Move the planing tables before replacing the blades.
Unscrew the 5 screws (ref. 4 in Figure 35) using the appropriate key.
With the force of the spring (ref. 1), the blade (ref. 2) will be pushed out automatically.
Remove the blade and clean the surface;
Clean the blade very carefully so as not to cut yourself.
Insert the new blade by tightening the 5 screws (ref. 4) so that it protrudes from the
surface of the shaft by a maximum of 1.1 mm.
The manufacturer recommends that the blade should protrude from 0.7 to 0.8 mm.
Afterwards, tighten the knife wedge (ref. 3) with the 5 screws.
After completing all the steps mentioned above, make sure that all locking screws for
each blade are in the right position and well-tightened, then secure all protective
covers; try to turn on the machine by pressing the start button.
ATTENTION! Do not use blades with a height that is less than 17 mm (their fixing
area is too small).
