ROOF

The system is controlled by an ECU which
uses seven sensors positioned in strategic
points. These sensors detect the open/
closed condition of the safety handle
and of the locks on the windscreen
upper cross member and on the luggage
compartment lid.
The operating logic of the system
disregards the position of the roof, since
when the ECU is off and the clutches
disengaged, the roof can be moved
manually and the ECU is unable to
update its position.
The driver can open and close the roof
using the toggle switch positioned on
the central console, next to the glass
transparency regulator (see on page 96).

CAUTION
Always make sure, before activation

and during operation, that people or
things are at a safe distance from the
roof’s movable parts.
Never leave children unattended in the
vehicle.
When the roof is operated, the driver
and passenger must remain properly
seated in the their seats.

The roof may be opened/closed only
under the following conditions:

- vehicle stationary
- parking brake engaged
- luggage compartment lid fully closed
- sufficient battery charge

(higher than

10.5V).

It is also advisable to keep the engine
running to preserve the battery charge.
If one or more of the above conditions
are not met, the ECU detects the error
and activates a buzzer when the toggle
switch is operated. This signal is also
activated if the battery voltage is too low.
In addition to the buzzer, the roof
operation symbol is shown on the multi-
function display of the instrument panel
(see on page 47).
