IN AN EMERGENCY

CHECKING THE BATTERY 

The battery is positioned in the engine 
compartment.
The vehicle is equipped with a battery 
with sealed energy circuit, that is 
maintenance-free.

CAUTION
The battery does not need refilling 

with distilled water or sulphuric acid.

•

Periodically check that the terminals 
and pins are completely clean and 
firmly secured.

•

Visually inspect the outer casing for any 
cracks.

•

If the battery runs overloaded, it will 
wear out quickly. Have the electric 
system of the vehicle checked if the 
battery tends to discharge easily.

CAUTION
Keep the battery away from sources 

of heat and do not use open flames or 
create sparks near it. 

Recharging the battery

CAUTION
The battery should be recharged in a 

well-ventilated area and away from 
any flammable materials.
Batteries can produce combustible 
gases. Do not smoke, use open flames 
or create sparks near the battery. 

Proceed as follows, using a lead acid 
battery charger: 

•

Set the battery master switch to 

OFF.

•

Disconnect the terminals from the 
battery posts. 

•

Connect the cables of the instrument 
used to charge the battery to the 
battery posts. 

•

When the battery has been charged, 
reconnect the electric system wires, 
firmly tighten the terminal screws and 
reconnect the battery by operating the 
battery master switch.

CAUTION
Do not use devices that have to be 

connected through the cigarette 
lighter.
