8.9.1 Function
The buffing unit is used to polish the edge which has just
been trimmed or finished with the scraper.
Each unit has a three phase motor. The rotation speed of
the buffers is 2900 rpm.
The buffers rotate in opposite direction to the panel
movement. Standard equipment foresees two buffers, top
and bottom, tiltable up to approx. 10°.
Attention! Dismount one set of buffers at a time to avoid switching over their position.
The top buffing unit being fixed to the pressure bar is
adjusted automatically when the panel thickness to be
edged varies.
The parameters to respect in the choice of buffers are the
following:
• maximum diameter permitted 150 mm
• diameter fixing spindle 20 mm
• maximum weight for each buffer 200 gr.
• maximum 3000 rpm.
Attention: An excessive quantity of glue further than dirtying the flush trimming unit can also damage
and put out of use the buffers. The buffers must be adjusted with a slight pressure on the edge to be
polished.
8.9.2 Substitution of buffers
To substitute the buffers it is necessary to loosen locking
screws 4 and 8 fig. 38. Pull out the support and lay the
motor on the working table.
Unscrew the locking screw of the buffers.
Remount a new set of buffers (3) following mounting
scheme in fig. 39. Tighten well the locking screws.

Attention! The screw of the bottom buffer is LEFT handed.
