3.9 Maintenance work
3.9.1 Preliminary remarks
Always carry out the prescribed maintenance work and mainte-
nance measures on time in order to maintain the safety, opera-
tional readiness and long service life of the machine.
The machine must only be serviced by qualified personnel author-
ised by the operating company.
3.9.2 Maintenance work on electric components and battery
Perform maintenance work in a dry and clean environment.
Only perform maintenance work on the machine when the battery
has been removed.
When working near the battery, smoking or open fire are pro-
hibited!
Do not place any tools or other metal objects on the battery.
Do not wear jewellery (watch, bracelets, etc.) when working near
the battery.
Cables must not touch or rub against machine parts.
Functional tests, checks and adjustments to live parts may only
be carried out by instructed and authorised persons, taking appro-
priate precautions.
3.9.3 Working on the tamper foot
Drain the tamper foot oil at operating temperature – danger of
scalding!
Wipe off spilled oil, catch running out oil and dispose of environ-
mentally.
Store oil contaminated materials in a separate, specially marked
container and dispose of environmentally.
3.9.4 Cleaning work
Do not perform cleaning work while the motor is running.
Allow the engine to cool down before cleaning.
Do not clean the machine or battery with a high-pressure cleaner
or water.
Never use gasoline or other easily inflammable substances for
cleaning.
