When there are contact records in the phonebook, the contact records will be arranged in the

alphabet order. User may browse the contacts with up/down navigator keys. User may fast scroll the

contact list by holding the up/down navigator keys. The contact name initial can help user to quickly

locate the contact. The record indicator tells user which contact is currently focused. User may

check the contact‟s information by open it in the edit mode.

6.2.1

Contact Search (Intelli-Match)

When there are hundreds of contacts and call logs, it can be difficult and annoying to browse all the

records to find the numbers. The intelli-match feature can help user to quickly locate the contact or

narrow down the result. When user enters number in standby or dialing mode, the phone will search

matched result by name and number from phonebook and call logs. When there are matched result

returned, user can select the number in the matched list with up/down navigator keys without

entering the complete number.

To search a contact by name, user simply enters the number or name of a contact (or call log) in

standby screen or during dialing

. For example, to locate contact „John Smith‟, user can search for

„JS‟ by entering 57, or „John‟ by entering 5646, or 76484 for „Smith‟.

If user wants to search by number, the intelli-match will not return any result for number less than

three digits. This is to avoid massive matched result.
