Using your bicycle
1. GENERAL SUGGESTIONS
- Your bicycle is designed to be used either in the
traditional way, or with power-assisted pedalling.
We recommend that you familiarize yourself
with your bicycle before using power-assisted
pedalling.
· When riding at night or in poor visi-
bility conditions, wear clothing with
reflective bands and switch your
lights on (if fitted).
· Wear certain types of clothing and/
or a rucksack may limit your move-
ments.
· We strongly recommend you do not
attempt to ride your bicycle while
wearing high heels.
Falling hazard and risk of ac-
cidents due to unexpected
start.
· When your foot is placed on the ped-
al, the motor will start running in re-
sponse to even the slightest move-
ment of the wheels. This means that,
in this condition, the bicycle may
start moving unexpectedly.
· Do not place your foot on the pedal
until you are ready to start riding.
· Operate both brakes, and release
them only when you wish to start
moving.

· You should only use the bicycle if
you are capable of riding it safely
and carrying out braking manoeu-
vres at high speeds.
· Wear a safety helmet when using
the bicycle.
· Ride with care.
· When pedalling always make sure
that your ready to brake at a mo-
ment’s notice.
· Do not ride under the effects of alco-
hol.
· Ride in such a way that you always
have complete control over your bi-
cycle and that you do not find your-
self in difficulties in the event of un-
expected hazardous conditions.
· In wet conditions, braking efficiency
is reduced and braking distance is
increased.
· Wear suitable clothing that does not
limit movements or obstruct visibili-
ty when riding your bicycle.
· Always wear tight fitting trousers.
Baggy or loose clothing may be-
come entangled in the bicycle mov-
ing parts and cause heavy falls.
