Warnings and Safety Devices

Do not attempt to carry out any op-

erations other than those described

in this manual on your own. For any

operations not described in this doc-

ument, contact your dealer.

Do not use the bicycle until it has been

restored to perfect working order.

Check:

• that the handlebars and saddle are

fitted securely,

• the wheel hub fastening nuts; mak-

ing sure that they are fully tightened,

• the tyre pressure,

• the efficiency of the front and rear brakes,

• the state of the wheel assemblies.

Attempt to shake them from side to

side; the wheel assemblies must be

free from any play and there should

be no squeaking or creaking.

Although it is not required by law,

we recommend that your always

wear an approved safety helmet

when using your bicycle.

2. TAKING CARE OF THE BATTERY PACK

Improper use of lithium bat-

teries may result in fires, ex-

plosions or chemical hazards.

- The battery charger supplied with your bi-

cycle must only be used to charge lithium

ion batteries. Do not use it to charge lead,

NiCd-NiMh batteries or accumulators.

- Do not attempt to charge the battery pack

when it is hot. Make sure that the battery pack

is at room temperature before charging it.

- The battery will heat up slightly while it is

being recharged, however, the charging

process must be interrupted immediate-

ly if the battery pack starts to over heat.

- Make sure that the battery pack does

not come into contact with water or

other liquids. If it does, avoid using it

and have it checked by the vendor.

- Do not leave the bicycle where it may be ex-

posed to direct sunlight: the battery pack may

over heat causing the safety device to intervene.

3. WHICH OPERATIONS CAN THE USER CARRY OUT ON THE BICYCLE

WITHOUT ASSISTANCE

If operations are not carried out

correctly it may damage your

bicycle and compromise safe oper-

ation. This may result in hazardous

riding conditions, falls and accidents.

- The user may only carry out the opera-

tions described in this manual and for

which he7she possesses the correct tools.

- The specifications of the individual bi-

cycle components must not be modi-

fied.

- All other operations, including prepar-

ing the bicycle for use, may only be car-

ried out by the vendor or a specialized

technician.
