8.7 OUT
With regard to signal routing, the Hybrid Pro module offers you several possibilities. In the chapter on
signal
flow and routing options
, some connection scenarios are listed which clearly explain which
paths are available to you.
LINE:
This parameter is important if you want to connect a mono signal to the line-in jack. Select
"Mono" here, so that the signal fed into the line in is centred in the stereo sound image (only the
signal from the "tip" of the jack plug is transmitted). However, if you select "Stereo" (the logical
default for stereo sources), a mono signal is only fed into the left channel.
Line In – Mono:
This setting is advantageous if you use the
Fame Hybrid Pro
module as an in-ear
monitor station and only a mono monitor signal is supplied by an external mixing console (AUX). In
this situation you should select "Mono" so that the signal sounds centred, i.e. on both sides of the
headphones.
M OUT:
In the M OUT menu item, which can be found in the middle of the top row (not shown), you
can specify which of the four direct outputs the click, i.e. the metronome, is to be routed to. By
pressing the MORE switch in combination with the middle data button you can set the following
options:
• 1 + 2 (The click is routed to direct outs 1 + 2)
• 3 + 4 (the click is routed to direct outs 3 + 4)
• MIX (The click is routed to MIX group)
METKR:
The menu item METKR (not shown) in the top row on the far right can be switched between
ON / OFF using the right DATA button. ON means already started metronome will keep running when
switching to another kit which has also a metronome configured. This is useful if you want to switch
kits during the song but keep playing along with the metronome
OUT1/2:
This sets which signal is fed to the main output sockets (OUT1•2). You can select from the
following options:
Mix:
The complete sum signal of the internal mixer (all instruments, metronome, line in and the song
player)
Mix!
: Like "Mix", but with fixed volume. The output volume is then no longer dependent on
the LEVEL control. This can therefore be used exclusively for the headphone output. It
makes sense to disconnect the output volume from the LEVEL control, especially in live
operation. This ensures that the volume of the drum signal on the PA does not change when
you turn the headphones up or down.
Sub
: This setting uses the SUB-Mix signal (see SUB)
Sub!
: Like "Sub", but with fixed volume - independent of the LEVEL control. Disconnecting the output
volume from the LEVEL control makes sense especially in live operation. This ensures that the volume
of the drum signal on the PA does not change when you turn the headphones up or down.
