5 PAS & MAGNET RING INSTALLATION
There are many different bottom bracket and crank designs out there so this
is a general installation guide that should allow you to fit the components in
the correct position regardless of the system you have fitted on your bike.
Power Assist Sensor (PAS):
The PAS sensor can be fitted to any bottom bracket type, apart from “press
fit” and one piece bottom brackets, in exactly the same way.
Magnet Ring:
The magnet ring is designed, primarily, to be fitted to Square Taper Bottom
Bracket axles and cranks that employ only one chainring.
If you are running a triple chainset with a ST BB you may also be required to
modify your magnet ring to allow it to fit between the cranks and the crank
sensor mounted on the BB shell.
Tools required:
Due to the amount of different crank and BB designs you will need to consult
with your components user manuals to determine the correct tools for your
system
Step One:
Following your
manufacturers
instructions you
need to remove
both crank arms
and entire bottom
bracket from the
bike frame.
Step Two:
Fit the crank sensor
onto your drive-‐
side BB cup with
the black sensor
facing away from
the frame.
