SunSDR2 PRO User Manual

TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS

TRANSCEIVER OPERATIONS

This chapter describes all basic transceiver functionality.

7.1

Local operation

Local operation is a standard way to use the SunSDR2 PRO transceiver. Make the following

connections as described below:

1. Connect headphones and microphone to the transceiver. If you have an electret microphone

or PC headset, connect the microphone to jack MIC1. If you have a dynamic microphone,

plug it into the jack MIC2. Headphones are plugged into the PHONES connector;

2. Connect HF-antenna to the A3 connector;

3. Connect the transceiver and a PC with a CAT5 Ethernet cable;

4. Start the ExpertSDR2 software with the red Start button.

5. In the ExpertSDR2 main window select the microphone you are going to use;

6. Open

Sound Card menu and make sure that the Enable checkbox in the

Sound card half is unchecked.

7. Click OK. If everything is done correctly, you will see the air noise on the panorama and hear

the sound in the headphones.

7.3

Frequency Tuning

There are several ways of the f requency t uning:

Fine t uning.

More accurate tuning can be performed by rotating the mouse wheel with the accuracy

specified in the STEP menu.

Quick t uning by t he mouse click.

On the spectrum, scope mouse cursor looks like the crosshair. Alongside this cursor displayed

the exact frequency and dBm level in the certain point. The RX filter moves to this position by

the click of the left mouse button.
